newbie question re: shaking

Am I right you only shake whole grain mixes and not flour mixes? Also, any drawbacks to whole vs ground up grain? And both will form solid, movable cakes once colonized? Thanks in advance for any tips.

Whole grain you can shake, whereas a flour mix forms a solid cake.

Drawbacks... whole grain is harder to sterilize, requires a pressure cooker.

Advantages.. whole grain colonizes faster because of shaking...whole grain usually produces more potent fruits (than BRF)


When colonized, grain will appear like a colonized cake does, but can be shaken to break up the kernals.
