I have a fully colonized poo cake which has been in the inc. for 4 days since spawned. I want to case now but there are some conflicting opinions on weather to case then fruit immediately or to case then reincubate for a few days utill i see more myc poking through. Seems to me that if its already colonized and will continue to overtake casing for a little while anyway, then i should case and imediately fruit am i wrong.

Usually you want to incubate after casing to let the mycelium work its way up to the top, so when they poke through they think they are out of nutrients and then they fruit. But when working with coir or depending on the thickness of your casing layer, sometimes it might be better to fruit after casing. But from what I've read, for the most part - it's best to incubate again

my poo-cake layer is 3in thick 50/50 poo and coir. ive read that incubation to long with poo can sometimes run the risk of contam because high temps and humidity in inc. chamber. I have tit with the water in the tub at 82deg the will generate even more heat.

myc network will produce thier own heat... but what your speaking of is usually only a worry for deep sub depths 5-6"+... IMO it is always better to spawn:incubate:case:incubate:patch:fruit
happy trails and GL

case it and put it in your incubator and come back in 3 days and check on it. if there is still big areas w/ no mycilum poking threw apply a light layer of casing material and place back into incubator, and repeat dayly untill you have decent even coverage of your mycilum POKING threw on your casing layer. then place in your fruiging chamber, mist till you see pins forming then stop all misting. sorry im high if im making no sence..

I am not lost.. i am going there looking for it.. and when i get there and find it, i will know what it is.. "yes i want to hear what my mind has to say..." remember opions are like assholes, everyone has one and they all stink.
