If you have a coolmist that is adjustable then run it on low. Also I have always used perlite humidification in my FC's besides the coolmists. Many people have had your same experiences with coolmists some others have not I believe it all has to do with your particular setup and conditions, coolmist by themselves are not capable of producing real high RH factors when plumbed in from the outside (using fresh air as opposed to recirculating humid air) fresh air to moisture ratio is the key again depending on the coolmist and how it's setup. You definitely don't want that much fluctuation, down to 85% is no problem and you could get by with a drop down to 80% perhaps as long as it returns to 92-95% fairly quickly. BTW cakes are much less tolerant.GL

If you're going to run a coolmist into a terrarium for air exchange, run it no more than one or two minutes per hour. That is enough to fully exchange the air without drying anything out.
