Well, I inoculated some jars a little less than a week ago and I think I've got a contam problem. It looks like all the jars from a specific syringe have got a grey fuzzy growth on them. I think its cobweb mold. The syringes i used this time have been in my fridge, in a box for over a year, so I'm not overtly surprised. My question is, what is standard procedure for dealing with contams? Is the whole jar thrown away, or just the contamed substrate? Should I PC the jars after throwing the substrate away?

clean the jars out. Use bleach or soapy water. bleach if you wanna be ultra sure. When you pc the jars, when they contain your next substrate, they will be sterilized. I'm assuming you'll pc them for a good amount of time like 60 min+. Keep the jars. It's a waste of money otherwise. shroom on!

The spores from some molds can be harmful to breathe in, especially dark grey or brown molds. All spores are harmful to your crop if you release them into the air. If you want to be perfectly safe, pc the jars before you dump them out. Afterward, just wash the jars with soap and water. RR

The more I look at the jars the more I'm just not sure about, so I've taken some pics in hopes someone here can tell me. The growth was a darker white, but now spots seem to be turning a brighter white. Also, I think I see a dense white fuzz in one or two of the jars, but I honestly can't tell through the glass. My B+ jars in a different chamber didn't look like this and didn't grow as fast either. All of this growth happened within like 5-6 days.
