If your looking for enough to satisfy yourself, then the PF tek is probably the easiest way to go. I think personally that if you follow Doc's WBS (Wild birdseed tek), spawned to a double tub, you'll have enough for yourself for at least a couple of months. You probably should spend a lot of time here on the shroomery reading teks OVER AND OVER AGAIN. Also, check out the Teks in the mushroom cultivation section

Welcome to our community. I would suggest spending some time searching and getting to know your way around this website. There is soo much information that you will find to be useful. You should take a look at the PF tek literature and get to know the terms so when you have questions you will understand the responses and advice people give you. Don't forget about the photo gallery so you can see the stages of growth so you know what to expect. Be patient as it will take a few months before you will be able to sample your own work for the first time. Have fun and welcome.

Being on a tight budget is a REAL pain in the ass when you start growing mushrooms. Best thing you can do is look at many techniques and understand WHY your doing what your doing. This way you will save yourself from making unnecessary purchases and stretch your dollar.

Like it was suggested before, read all you can. Everyone's learning style is different but i like to try to learn everything i can before i start so i know what kind of questions to ask when i run into trouble. It makes for more efficient question asking and therefore you often get more responses and it helps diagnose the problems faster. If you feel like dropping the cash, "The Mushroom Cultivator" is well worth the money and a very good read. Welcome to the board and remember that good preparation is the best defence to future problems and results in quicker success (More Fun Mushroom Trips
