Trade rating guidelines?

Do any general trade rating guidelines exist?
If not, I think they would be a big help to the community. People take trade ratings a great deal more seriously than general ratings. While I know that giving negative trade ratings for non-trade related material is against site rules, I don't know in what general circumstances trade rates are acceptable.
For example: if you win a contest, is it acceptable to give a positive trade rate to the contest holder? Should the contest holder rate you back - is a contest a kind of trade? How about if a forum member sends you something for free, do they get a trade rate? Does it matter how valuable the item is they send you? How about a postcard? Is it acceptable to give a trade rating for receiving internet-based stuff, like an invite to a bittorrent site, or an account at an ftp server?
I think a general guide to when trade ratings are suitable would be a big help - not rules as such, just guidelines, so shroomery members know what's expected of them. It would certainly make me more comfortable.
Cheers

>if you win a contest, is it acceptable to give a positive trade rate to the contest holder?
If the contest holder sends you physical goods then yes.
>Should the contest holder rate you back - is a contest a kind of trade?
No, unless you send him something too.
>How about if a forum member sends you something for free, do they get a trade rate?
Yes, if you wish.
>Does it matter how valuable the item is they send you?
Not in general.
>How about a postcard?
This is borderline. I would say rather no, not eligible for a trade rating.
>Is it acceptable to give a trade rating for receiving internet-based stuff, >like an invite to a bittorrent site, or an account at an ftp server?
No, it is for physical goods.

Yes, if you wish.
Can a user give you a bad trade rating if it gets sent back to them because you did not want or need what they sent you?
