ZEOLITE
    #535645 - 01/30/02 05:11 AM (22 years, 2 months ago)

Hello all,

My friends brothers neighbors racoon is running all over the keyboard, wanting to tell everybody about Zeolites. But, I think he's a little hyper. Besides that, he doesn't type or spell very well. What I think he wants me to do is give a one sentence explanation & type in a link.

0.25 to 1% Zeolite in composting, substate & casing does wonders. At least that's what Cooner, the racoon says.

Go here for a fairly good explanation in laymans terms of what Zeolite is & how it works: http://www.zeoponix.com/zeolite.htm

If you want further explanation; use the google seach engine (or any you want) & type in keywords like "Zeolite -- ammonia -- hepa -- filtration" and/or "Zeolite absorbent".

!*&^%$#@*$ (explative) ......Cooner ran off chasing the cat & then stopped dead in his tracks when he saw the big aquarium & is now trying to get in it & catch the Discus. Gotta go quick.

My neighbor's skunk will try almost anything once. Can you ask this racoon if there are any retail establishments where the skunk could find this substance?

Cooner says hello to the skunk. He wants to know if it is female? Cooner thinks he is a stud. The cats don't think so, even when in heat.

Cooner is starting to make the parrot go nuts. Cooner keeps pacing around looking at him, licking his lips. Then motioning the parrot to come off his perch & play.

Anyway, he tells me that most big city large garden, plant & flower nurseries have it. But some might have a chem fertilizer mixed in. So, you need to ask and/or read the label. The best bet for getting a relative small amount quick --> is @ any real good pro level tropical fish or koi pond supply place. Those have no BS in them. Just ask for a Zeolite filtation or pond medium.

http://www.aquariumpharm.com/techref/pondcare/apbpc149b.htm

Now Cooner is offering the parrot a peanut, to come down & play. LOL, the parrot is telling the racoon to !%$#@!.

Cooner also mentions that Diatomite holds water very well, then disharges it on demand from any growing thing & can be found at the same type tropical fish or koi pond supply stores.

What next. In the 60's peaple took LSD to make the world weird. Now, the world is weird & they take Prozac to make it normal.

Certain zeolites are also called "molecular sieves" and can be used for drying mushrooms. They can take up to 25% in its own weight in water without feeling wet.
Also they can be regenerated nearly indefinitely.

It is also good as a face mask / skin mask to clean the skin .

Zeolite is sold as budget kitty litter round here and arrives in bags of broken clay about 5mm diam . What i do it put it in a blender with clean water and turn it into a slurry , works fine , just keep enough water in there to keep things moving freely .

Zeolite can also be used as a gas phase sieve.

If you pump air under pressure over a bed of Zeolite, the nitrogen is absorbed. So the output is almost pure oxygen with traces. The nitrogen is released from the Zeolite over time but can be removed quickly by exposing it to a vacuum. Put two beds in parallel, one under pressure while the other is under vacuum, and you get a constant stream of O2 for the price of the electricity.

Pretty amazing stuff!
