hepa air filter question

i own one of the small holmes hepa air purifiers. i'm confused as to whether the air blowing out of top is where the purified is coming from. so when i work i should lay the purifier on its side to have the work space in its path?

I wouldnt guess it really matters. So long as it's cleaning the air in your workspace.

How long have you been running it for and what was the cost?
Something that would be nice for the workspace of setting up casings.
