decided to try salvia for the first time. i just bought some foliage from mother gecko botanicals. my first question is what is salvia supposed to smell like? when i opened the bag it almost smells like leaves off of a tree. when i smoke it though the smell reminds me alot of pot. could they have ripped me off? has anyone ever had experience with mother gecko botanicals before? i smoked quite a bit of it and just got a little loopy which seems to go along with what other people have posted. i did use a homemade water bong. this weekend im buying a bubbler so hopefully ill have better luck next time. anyone got any advice for me?

Salvia has a very unique feel to it. "Loopy" doesn't quite cover it, I think, but it's definitely something odd. You would probably know it, if it were extract.
I'm not sure what you mean by foliage. You may have bought something that was meant to be used as a quid, in which case smoking it would have little effect. A quid is a ball of leaves that you chew or suck on.

there could be a few reason you didn't feel it. 1. your natural tolerance was stronger so you would need stronger stuff 2. you didn't hold it long enough which is very important 20 -30 sec 3. you didn't use a torch lighter cuz it burn hotter (i think) 4. IMHO i believe in you excepted to much i wouldn't be as strong hope i helped

it must be smoked fast plain leaf will need 3 or 4 fast deep well combusted inhallations. each held for about 20 seconds try again. quiddding is not a good alternative.

well i ordered a torch lighter online and when it gets here im going to try it again. wish me luck. i think one of my big problems is i was excited and was expecting too much. i tried the quid method and couldnt even last 5 min. the taste was too much for me. i did smoke once more with a friend and it hit me alot harder than the first time and i didnt even smoke as much as the first time. i can defiantly see what you guys are talking about when you say reverse tolerance.
