Am I doing something wrong?

This is my first attempt at cultivating shrooms. I have birthed two PF style cakes into a 10 gallon aquarium with perlite for a humidifier. They have been in there for 8 days and no shrooms have started to grow. There are little white lumps forming. Are these pin heads? If not, what are they? How much longer should I wait to decide I've totally screwed things up? I fan the terrarium at least twice a day. Please give me some info.

the white lumps are the beginnings of a flush. these will soon turn into pins. You havent screwed up.
