Martha's doing me wrong

I've been using a martha for a couple of weeks. There's a coolmist and ultra sonic connected directly through single tubes. I'm experiencing the problems of a drying casing layer and build up of moisture on the mycellium. It seems the moving air is causing the moisture to evaporate from the casing layer. The Ultra sonic's fog is too thick and is collecting. The cycle is 15 on and 45 off for the ultra sonic. I was thinking it may work better if I rerouted the cool mist and ultra sonic so that they had four seperate distribution points into the fc. This may cut down on thick fog and slow down the cool mist's air movement. How's the plan sound? Anyone with better advice? thanks!

I have a tyvek layer in the bottom of my martha to allow CO2 to escape. I only fan and mist three times daily and have had Excellent results... I have no coolmist or anything. I can mist about 10 squirts into the martha and the RH will stay about 85% for nearly two days. give that a try.

That's good advice. Do you heat the martha? Are the ventilation holes pluged on the sides? I guess less could be more.

Your casing is supposed to dry out a bit between waterings. If there is no moisture loss from the casing layer, you'll get crappy pinsets. I doubt the ultrasonic is necessary with cased substrates. 80% humidity is plenty. I never use an ultrasonic in my greenhouse. A coolmist will provide plenty of humidity. RR

Nah... Max temps around 75F then at night maybe down to 69F or 70F. The entire bottom is tyvek. no holes. C02 is heavier, so theoretically, it just seeps out the bottom. When I open it up and fan it a bit, it gets FAQ. Plus I have an egg crate in the bottom growing Sweet Basil. The Basil loves the C02 and in turn emits oxygen plus keeps my martha from smelling like the forest floor.
