Hi everybody, after the first flush I dunked my casing for 24 hours in water with 8% peroxid. After this time, I found green mold on the casing.. Not too much but I think it isn't good.... What should I do?

Thats way too long a dunk between flushes also 8% h2o2 is too strong. You can try spraying down the casing with hydrated lime water as trichs just hates it. It doesn't need to be strong either you just want to bring up the casings pH. If any mean greenie persists you can sprinkle baking soda on the affected areas. I would also highly recommend isolating this casing from any others ASAP! GL

Ya I got priorities too!!!"

you sure its green mold and not just blueing? swap it with a qtip. if the green comes off on the qtip, then its mold. if nothing comes off, thats just the psilocybin oxidizing from being bruised or from lack of humidity (this is waht ive heard at least).

Do casings bruise? I only thought cakes got blue/bruised.
Anyway, every time I dunk, I get green mold with my casings. Don't know why. So from now on, I just saturate the casing layer with a good HEAVY mist.
But until then, follow hyphae's advice.....It's worked for me. I think the most important step is to SEPERATE the green mold, then pour the baking soda.

casings bruise. Also, if part of your casing is touching the side of the container, it will sometimes bruise there and it looks greenish blue and has the consitencey of congealed broth fat. If it worries you, cut it off. No biggie.
