I've been told that in Canada it has been legalized. But I doubt it. Since I was there 3 months ago...well I just want to here the facts. Can anybody please fill me in? Thank you

Weed is not legal in Canada, nor is it decriminalized. The penalties are just very light here in comparison to the U.S.

How much lighter, if I get caught with less than an ounce it's only a 100 dollar fine.

It's not legal here. Most of the time if a cop catches you with a small amount he will just take it and leave you alone. It was legal in Ontario for years due to a legal loophole and it that news made it into the mainstream a couple years ago and after that it was only a few months before the loophole was fixed....

Actually things have been set back a little recently in Canada. First with the arrest of Mark Emery, and now the bust of the people involved with Heavens Stairway and Overgrow. The RCMP recently created special teams just to try and stop the Cannabis production in Canada. Things still arn't nearly as bad as in the USA.

I can't answer your question but once me and my friends got caught with 2 ounces and we also had a scale so they were saying they could charge us for dealing. In the end they just took the weed and let us all go.

Oh I live in southern california, I dont know about canada. I was just saying, a 100 dollar fine isnt a big deal at all, so if it is equal to that or less in Canada you should be good.
