So what do you think of myspace?

So what... I gave in. It might actually be a place to meet cool people I thought to myself. Then I came to read more peoples pages, see more groups, hear more noises and slowly I started to be abhorred by these people. Everyone's signature was some cliched, moronic one liner about drinking or sex or how they indiscrimately loved everyone and everything. Everyone's interests were drinking and smoking and of course oh god don't forget music. Everyone's life was hard and everyone was self proclaimingly emo and everyone had some sort of fucked up "personal" problem that they had to share with the whole fucking world. Of course every page was hilarious. The "about me's" literally turned my stomach. "Well hey, about me.. what can I say. I'm screwed up in the head and want to be accepted by everyone so I will try and say the least offensive thing to make sure you like me as you read this. I might also risk a joke.. but you know.. an easily accesible one. But just in case you don't like me "I DON'T EVEN CARE, because I FUCKING HATE EVERYONE(but at the same time I have 500 people of my friends list), I hate people who judge and people with attitude. I'm really emo and I don't care. Music is my life". Compare this to accounts on myspace.. I'm sure you will find similarities. And if they aren't emo they love everything and everyone.
But enough of this. I can accept this I suppose. Fake's exist in the world. We've all met a phoney or two in our time, its the way it goes. What gets me then is when good, genuine, NORMAL, not loserish people get turned in UTTER AND COMPLETE FAKETARDS. Take my cousin. She has a MySpace.. whatever fair enough. So obviously I go check it out. EVEN SHE, even she turns into a complete fool... what did she write? "Life is the best". Sorry what?! Not only is that not like her... but it dont even fucking make sence. Say something with substance if you are going to say something. "Life is the best" just makes me want to hit you a little bit in the face. Ot's just inappropriate. So you like storms.. that's fine! I like storms.. really I do! But that wouldn't be the first thing I would say to you. And that gives no indication of my personality. I mean.... when you meet someone in a normal situation, you don't just give them a list of things you like do you?! It says nothing about you.. only who you like to think you are.. and when ppl do that they just lose dignity..and it just makes me cringe.
And then you get the "deep" ones. I'm just looking to meet someone who is like me, who I can talk to about stuff cuz sometimes I think too deeply about things. Ok so maybe that one sounds credible. I mean we all want to meet someone who we can talk to, but they just seem to try so hard to be "deep". I'm confused and therefore more loveable. Love me because I'm fucked up. Love me. That's what it is. It's the way these people sacrifice their dignity. They literally, sometimes it seems purposefully make idiots of themselves. GET SOME SELF RESPECT.
MySpace turns everyone into an idiot. Everyone seems unable to be themselves on MySpace because they are so eager to be liked or fit into whatever stereotype they are trying to be. .I mean if you hate yourself so much , go and get some fucking therapy, don't post it on the internet for the whole fucking world too see.

You're chasing a fantasy world there, buddy. Nobody is truly "genuine" or "unique". In the end we are all fake products of this fake world we live in. Myspace just seems like a scapegoat to let your anger towards the world out on.

Lots of people on myspace are like that.
Here's my profile.
You can check it out if you'd like, I try not to be anything other than I am in real life.

That is my problem. I also disagree with you saying there are no real genuine people in this world. Alot of people I know are real... or at least smart enough to know that there not. Alot of people on this fourm are real genuine people. Including you.

Myspace is just another perspective of what already exists. Just think about it.
I 'm only on it cuz friendster is dead and I only joined friendster to keep in touch with friends I've left all over the united states... a place to have everyone in one central location.. and to get in touch with those Ive forgotten a while back.. It's truly the beginning of the end.. the fusion of binary logic with the soul.. real life with the Internet... the mystery with the man... the image with the real person... it's what we call a 'phenomenon' because there's been nothing like it before and no benchmark to compare it to. It will definatly be mentioned 20 years from now on VH1's I remember the 2000's.
What people will say about it., depends.. on what you make of it.

There's a reason it went from a start up to a 600 milli0on dollar trade in a mere 2 years. How many companies can you say increased their value 10,000,000 percent in 2 years.
the telephone is for the 60's what myspace is to now

Myspace is an excuse for retards to use the internet and feel like they "fit in" somewhere. I know damn well the only people arguing with this are the people who have a myspace account. Dont lie people.

i just try to have fun with it, and it's been great so far for finding old friends and meeting cute girls. i think it's funny that everyone in the world thinks their life is interesting enough to merit a whole web page dedicated to what type of music they like.
i mock myspace, but it has it's uses.

I disagree with that, and not because I have a myspace account.
It's a great tool for finding old friends that you may have lost touch with, and had no way to find.

On my recent trip to Cali, I met a lot of people who I only knew through myspace. They all recognized me which was pretty cool and they were ALL frikken awesome. They treated me like someone they've known for a long time rather then just some online myspace freak.
I've met a lot of myspacers...pretty cool people.

no.. myspace is the new digital version of masturbation... Something to keep the electrons moving from brain cell to brain cell... Trying to make one's self look cool is something that's been going on for centuries...
Don't try to act like we're the generation that invented that. Every generation tries to act like we';re the ones fucking things up. Myspace is nothing but the exponential regurgitation of past attempts at presenting one's "good side" to the world..... the extra feature available is that you can actualy communicate... it IS good for something.
