WBS fully colonized ? or ?
    #5352573 - 03/01/06 07:52 AM (17 years, 10 months ago)

Hello guys, I got several jars of wbs sitting in the incubator ( 84 ) for about 2 weeks already, the jar is all white now but seems a bit dry & it desont looks like there is going to be any more growth. Thinking about case it with 60/40 coir/verm, but wondering when will be a good time to do it ? or should I wait a bit longer till its fully colonized ? Thanks for your input, I appreciated !

I only did that right after I inject spores, I didnt shake the jar when its about 20-40% colonized ( totally forgot ), after about a week, I tried to shake it but the whole thing is already stuck together. Right now the whole jar is white, but it just doesnt look as thick, thats why I am wondering if the jar is fully colonized or not. If picture needed, please let me know, thanks a lot !

the rule of thumb is when you think it's ready wait a day. i would wait the extra day and then case tomorrow. let it colonize the center some more ya know.

The wbs has likely just dried a little too much.. you likely didnt fully achieve the correct saturation point. Simmer a little more next time, or did you simmer at all?

you'll be good to use that, just make sure to scrape off any uncolonized seed in to the trash...

happy trails and GL to ya

Martha's are great if you have the room. I would say go with a martha. This is just my opion though.

I would go with poor mans pod. it's maintence free and is pretty cheap to put together.

if you are into cropping mass amounts i have come up with a modification to the pmp if you would like i can post that info for you.

Here is a smaller version

I also prefer Martha type set-ups because i like to make smaller multiple casings (10x10x5) as opposed to tub or "pmp." It makes everything easier, and you can have shelves with various rH levels for different times of fruiting.
ex.
top shelf = higher rH(92-95%) = pinning
bottom shelf = lower rH(88-90%)= growth

you also get your fruits in half the time with a martha... :-D

id like to see that tek newguy if you dont mind sendin me a link... i always like to see a new tek

happy trails

I see, I think I will set up martha first, since I already have the closet. But I will check out pmp also, & I will remember to simmer longer next time ~ Thanks a lot for you guys's input !
