and left with my pack of smokes sitting on the bar. it was almost a full pack, and when i went back to see if they were still there.....they werent. surprise, surprise. so i decided to quit. fuck it. cold turkey starts now.

I bought a pack of marlbs, gas, and a soda today from Stewarts and left without my smokes... I got ten miles outside of town before I realized it and had to turn back...

I can usually make it on 4-5a day if I try.. it's those times where I'm sitting still that i end up smoking way more.. just nothing to do with the hands.

I started smoking when I was 14 and started trying to quit when I was 18. When I was twenty eight, I began to experience health problems related to smoking, and after four more years of smoking, I finally kicked the habit last October.
I had to quit smoking weed first, and I used Welbrutrin. It was still hard, and I still get the temptation to smoke at least once a day, but the Welbutrin made it a lot easier to quit. It made the urges to smoke less intense and of shorter duration. When I tried to quit without Welbutrin I found myself dwelling on wanting a cigarette to the point that I couldn't think about anything else, but with it the urge to smoke would come, last for a minute, and then pass. It helped me to forget that I was quitting smoking.
The best part about being freed from tobacco is that I don't feel like I am slowing committing suicide anymore.

Holy crap, are they lites at least?
My woman makes me smoke more actually, lol.. she's a chain smoker. When I'm around her i smoke way more.
Partially due to how she can sometimes stress me out, but just looking at her smoking all the time makes me want to smoke more.

I smoke reds mostly too, sometimes the cheap imitations like gold coast and usa's. $2.20 for gold coast around here..

If you really want to quit, you may want see a Dr. about getting a scrip for Welbutrin. I took it for the first three months, but now I'm off the tobacco and of the meds.
It's not a silver bullet though; you really have to want to quit. It took getting sick for me to really want to quit.

I got some of that wellbutrin laying around. I heard it's supposed to work.. tried it a few times, but it didn't help me relax my hands or anything. I'm naturally just too hyper to sit still.

I used zyban (wellbutrien) to quit before and made it 6 months. It works really well to stop the cravings but its side effect, oddly enough, is anxiety which was a nightmare.

No, wellbutriens side effect in some people is anxiety. Which I find odd as its an anti-depressant.
I didnt even notice it, it was my friends that did. The month I was on it they were like "dude, you are an uppity asshole lately"

Adverse events commonly encountered in patients treated with WELLBUTRIN are agitation, dry mouth, insomnia, headache/migraine, nausea/vomiting, constipation, and tremor.
Adverse events were sufficiently troublesome to cause discontinuation of treatment with WELLBUTRIN in approximately 10% of the 2,400 patients and volunteers who participated in clinical trials during the product?s initial development. The more common events causing discontinuation include neuropsychiatric disturbances (3.0%), primarily agitation and abnormalities in mental status; gastrointestinal disturbances (2.1%), primarily nausea and vomiting; neurological disturbances (1.7%), primarily seizures, headaches, and sleep disturbances; and dermatologic problems (1.4%), primarily rashes. It is important to note, however, that many of these events occurred at doses that exceed the recommended daily dose.

I quit smoking on Monday. I'm trying to supplant my urge to smoke cigarettes by killing my roach collection. Of course that just makes me hungry, and since I already want to eat something every ten seconds to satisfy my oral fixation...
