cannot find vermiculite, sub perilite?

I cannot find any vermiculite. Wondering if I could sub perilite when using the pf tek? any ideas?

Believe it or not, this question has been asked about a million bajillion times. Nope, won't work. At least not w/ very good results. Check the Lowes garden section for Sta-Green brand.
For future reference, hit up the search function for the newb-esque questions.

As far as I know and have read, I don't think perlite can be used in making cakes, vermiculite can be ordered at Mycofactory.com or several of the other site sponsors for relatyively cheap, I also suggest calling local Gardening Supply Stores (not sections in other stores) and asking if they carry it, I was able to find it with a bit of work, and at first had similar issues as you only findingin Ironite and Perlite.

Check farming/agricultural stores. Get the medium grade if you can. The super fine grade they sell at lowes sucks.

home depot sells it. i couldn't find at fist but then the workers told me were it was and it is the hugest bag but still not allot of money. go to home depot if you cant find it any were els
