I have a little experience with Amanita's but it was a very small amount but it did make colors seem brighter but there was no change in perception, I bought somemore from IAS and I should get them on thursday so im gonna give them another go, but the taste of the smoke is nasty any ideas to make it taste better Soaking in vanilla extract? Anyways what i really want to know is if anyone ever reached a level that perception is changed from smoking Amanitas?

Smoking it never did much more than smoking anything would do and I've smoked a lot of cap skins... Definitely not worth it.

"Why would you smoke it when eating works perfectly"?--->SpicyTunaRoll said.
Thats like asking, why try salvia sublingually when you can just smoke it?
All I know Is that smoking it works, yet it is far more subtle than eating it. It is also one hell of a great additive to some good old dank weed. For those who smoked only the skins, well I dont see a reason to only smoke the skins, infact it ruins the whole experiment. If you are looking to trip, smoking it wont make you feel like your on acid or something. Even if you eat amanitas it is ENTIRELY different than any of the more classical hallucinogens. You just have to know your head to feel like smoking amanitas is not a waist of time. It works for sure. It is like a mild opium sedation, with some pretty dreamy effects. Even the typical amanita visuals can be acheived by simply smoking it. I think its really cool that amanitas can be smoked with such an obvious effect. I used to do it often enough to know that the high is more full and interesting when smoked with a little bit of pot, (more interesting and trippy than pot by its self). If you try to smoke it by its self, It works in a similare way. If you dont feel it, or say its the equivalent of smoking anything, you have no idea what your talking about. I wouldnt even know where to begin to correct you besides using other's experiences and my own to contradict you. I hope no one honestly thinks its placebo. That would be really funny to me. Smoke only a quarter of a small cap. You should EASILY feel that.

I got some Amanitas from IAS as well and they came in about a week ago. I've been really busy with school and shit but I only checked them once, and a few of the caps look a little dodgy. For instance, a few caps are a really bright orange and flexible and look good. Then there is another that is more brownish and really stiff which I don't like... if I was to eat these would it be harmful in any way other than the common nausua associated with consuming amanitas? Also how good does making tea with them work? And if it does, should I use warm or cold water. I need someone to answer this with personal experience, not like erowid or anything else. PLEASE! I am begging you, help me, and Jack Attack as well

because it works maybe????????
It is well known that amanitas are consumed in small doses for a variety of reasons in different cultures.
Smoking them provides you with a unique high, and it is not all that similare to eating them. What do you mean by "Why would you smoke it when eating works perfectly"? It just sounds like you have never tried it, cant feel it for some crazy stupid reason, or you are some sort of a confused purist.

As far as the sub-par mushrooms go, there is a species of amanita that is poisonous (even more than normal amanitas), they are called the "death caps". They are usually greenish yellow and are very poisonous. I don't think IAS would send you the wrong type of mushroom though. But just to be sure, I would type in a search for amanita death cap and compare you're shrooms. Also, i haven't had any luck with making tea. When I did it I got no effects at all. The heat reduces the potency alot, and boiling gets rid of all the psychedelic properties. So you might want to try it with cold, because hot definitely doesn't work.

Sorry dude, but I dont get too upset about the "rolls eyes" smiley. I was just encouraging you to actually speak in text form. All of what I said was sound. So far, you have seemed to misinterpret everything I have said.
