I'm not really used to this kind of style of song, so instead of going on the net looking up various scales and chord progressions, I thought it'd be cool if I asked here.
I need some help with this song in terms of direction. I want it to sound middle eastern/hard rock, Toolish sounding. Its only an introduction, but I'm stumped. Suggestions would help.
It'd be cool if we all made different parts and piece it all together... a collaboration of shroomery artists. A cooler drum track, maybe some synth., or different instruments like gongs or chimes. Comeon I think this would be a great idea :P
Edit: Changed it to an mp3, added 2 sound effects.

Hmm... I was going to download it, but I don't think I have the proper codecs installed for that format on this Mac...

Changed it to an mp3.
Ogg Vorbis is an excellent compression, I think its better than mp3. You should look into it... better quality and better compression.

Yeah, I have used it on my PC... but I don't find much of a quality difference between the two options... and my mp3 player won't take .ogg... so I just stick with mp3 for now.
Thanks for the file change... I will give 'er a listen.
Edit: Actually, the file is just gone all together now

I heard Campfire Headphase and thought it was sortof minimalistic and too retro to my liking. I'd like to listen to their other stuff before I buy it, because I wasnt too impressed.
I do see what you're saying, but I want to change the musical direction in this to something a bit more heavy mid-tempo.
To be honest, I was going for a collaboration of shroomery artists, but it doesn't look like its going that way. I'll figure something out for it.

Hey, fyi, I really didn't like Campfire Headphase either. I liked their older stuff a lot more. Minimalistic sums it up nicely.
Check out BoC's Music Has The Right To Children. I think it's waaaay better than Campfire. WAY more interesting musically/aurally, in my opinion.
