Question on Copes...

During the course of the on coming season on mushroom growth how often does one run into the copes rather than cubes? My field has been producing lots-o-cubes and lately I have been seeing a few that look like cubes but have skinnier stems, bigger rounder caps and they aren't very tall. They do bruise blue and they have a golden center but they aren't cone shaped like the cubes I've been seeing.
Also, I assume that they do grow in the same fields as cubes correct? I'm looking forward to finding all 4 different types of actives in my area.

You will find copes along with cubes, but it really depends on the field. When I used to live outside of H-town, I didn't know about copes but accidentally ingested a couple along with a couple of cubes that a friend and I split. We were bummed thinking that we hadn't really found enough mushrooms, within 30 minutes we had blasted off to another galaxy.
What do you mean by all 4 types? copes, pans, gyms, and cubes?
good luck

Yes those are the 4 types I will be looking for this season. It's going to be a stepping stone but once I accomplish this task I will be moving on to growing my own mushrooms from a cow pie and then work my way up from there.
I'm thinking that I have found 1 or 2 copes already actually. I'm not sure though once I get my computer configured to where I can upload my pics Ill post them and we will see. I was told however that the copes are hard to find at this time and I will probably have to wait till the beginning of the season which for me is right around the corner.

In most cases here you will find Cubes.. Active lBM Pan something or others..Copes and a few Cope look a likes... Along with Gym Spec's and an ass load of Edible and Non Edible species....
Ill show you man just sit tight...

Just getting anxious is all. I know it's just around the bend that's why I'm trying to ask the questions know and confirm the answers later. Building up that knowledge that got you those 2.6lbs the other day.
