Anyone else having this problem?

It seems every now and then, for the past day or so whilst I'm browsing the shroomery, my mouse pointer goes nuts and moves all over the desktop closing open programs and opening other ones. It's like someone else is controlling my mouse. I have all the proper security (Zonalarm, AVG7) and I scan for spyware almsot daily with programs like AdAware, SPybot S&D, etc. Anyone else getting this? And any ideas, please.

Optical Mouse?
Mouse Pad with high contrast between zones (hard lines of different colour like orange and black)?

Naw, that's not it. I have an old-fashioned ps/2 mouse with a cord. Thanks anyway, though.

Do tell? Sorry to hear that, although I'm rather glad I'm not the only one. So far, it's been pretty harmless and more annoying than anything.

I didn't mean cordless... I mean optical... like with a red LED on the bottom instead of a ball.

I see this a lot more often with laptops than desktops and it is almost always a bad mouse or bad mouse port on the logic board (for wired mice... wireless mice, it is almost always low batteries). Get yourself a USB mouse and see if that fixes your problems.

Sorry, my bad. But again no, it just a plain old mechanical type mouse.
Suess - I'll look into that. Thanks for the suggestion!
