Used wax paper instead of tin foil

Ok so my fish was getting ready to boil some jars of substrate last night and he noticed he didn't have any tin foil. So he used wax paper. The substrate looks kinda dry do you think that the moisture boiled out through the paper?

run your wax paper under a faucet to see how porous it is. you might've boiled the moisture out of them

wax paper is NOT porous. So the moisture certainly didn't escape through that barrier. There is the possibility that the moisture did escape through the periphery of the jar, though.

You could've used plastic wrap and still boiled all the moisture out of the jar.

Anything's possible.

If, after the mycelium becomes somewhat established--you don't see any condensation on the sides of the glass, then your H2O has been thrown off considerably.

good luck.

Well I didn't innoculate the jars yet as I boiled them late last night. The thing is when I mixed the substrate I ground my own flower out of rice and made it kinda clumpy the rice does not look cooked like it did the last time. So I think I'll just do it over again. Thank you guys for the reply
