I was wonder how come you laugh so hard and long at almost nothing at times of the trip? Ever since my first trip my laugh has completely changed too, I sound like a little kid again.

i laugh for hours on shrooms, because for that time being, all in the world is OK with me, and i feel good, and happy, which is not something experienced by me often, i think this is the reason i laugh so much whilst tripping.
just my 2 cents

I dunno, I think I laugh a lot just cause everything is so silly. Why is taking me 20 mins to put my shirt on? Why do my hands look weird? Why did I just stare at the mirror for 2 hours?
It's funny stuff! I think if you don't laugh, you'd start to think too hard about it and get scared, so it's easy (defense mech prolly) just to laugh it off as something silly.

Maybe it meant something. Maybe not, in the long run, but no explanation, no mix of words or music or memories can touch that sense of knowing that you were there and alive in that corner of time and the world. Whatever it meant." Hunter S. Thompson.

XTC releases a lot of serontin too, but it won't get you into hysterical laughter. I believe that according to Freud, laughing is caused by uncertainty. On shrooms I'm not sure of anything so that is maybe why I just keep laughing my behind off.

I think it's cause your brain's confused by the massive flood of information and signals, and since you aren't telling your brain to be scared or that something's wrong, it doesn't really know what other actions to take

Amanitas are generally poison so i wouldn't plan on eating any if thats what you are thinking, unless you knew exactly what they were and what they are going to do to you.

There are different types of serotonin, and multitudes of receptors. E causes the release of actual serotonin, shrooms, because of thier similarities and fit into certain serotonin receptors. Hence the laughter and the uncontrolable smiling. It is all just another chemical reaction in the brain.

for me, its always been the altered perception on reality that allows for me to notice things...things that are very difficult to describe and are only thoughts of fluid things that cannot even be verbalized well with language...and some of these discoveries/insights are downright hilarious.
also, because of the warped/distorted senses, several things are slighted altered--not completely fucked into unnoticeable oblivion, but just slightly changed--and the minor changes can be humorous; like seeing a tree that looks completely normal, but waves at you. or a wall that seems normal except for the fact that its watching you.
