I see some teks till you to use different mixtures. One said to use 1/2 cup Vermiculite 1/4 cup flour and 1/4 cup water. Another one said 2/3 cup vermiculite 1/4 cup flour and 1/4 cup water. I was wondering what method would be better. I went ahead and prepared 6 jars of each and am currently waiting for my spores to come so I can change my jars if needed. Also how important is a sterile clean environment when making the substrate?

Just to be sure, You know it's BROWN RICE flour right? Regular baking flour wont work.
I would go with the 1/2 cup vermiculite otherwise your jars will be packed to tightly. Don't forget you need to leave about 1/2 - 3/4 inch space on top for dry verm.
If you are using a pressure cooker to sterilize your jars it's not a big issue how clean you are as your mixing and loading jars. However if you are steaming jars it might be a good idea to maybe boil your water first, Clean you jars very well, wash your hands with antibacterial soap, etc.

Ya, I got the brown rice flour. The only vermiculite I could find though was horticulure and appears to be fine grade. I have no pc yet since I gotta order one online, the only ones I can find here are 8qt and thats just a waist of money. Im suppose to boil them for about an hour right? Thanks for the quick response.

How important is a sterile clean environment?
i absolutely cannot stress enough how sterile and clean everythig must be. Few things are worse than spending cash/time/effort just to grow a jar full of moldy crap. never touch anything with your barehands. dont breath on anything use a good phenol surface cleaner. spray a ton of lysol disinfecting spray while your working. spend 3bux of a box of sterile exam gloves. pressure cook for exact times listed. just generally be clean with it. when you inoculate your jars dont touch the needle. pour some isopropyl alcohol in a spoon and set it on fire and hold your needle under it before u stab it in your jar. my advice is if your not extremely clean you will end up waisting your time/money.
