listen to it backwards while in a bathtub full of orange juice with four red candles burning to unlock the secret mystery. also, it helps if you have been a awake for at least 36 hours and you should definitely fast. it's mind blowing once it hits you.

You put your finger on the vinyl, and manually turn it counter-clockwise.

i was just joking, i found it funny that the first post really didn't ask anything or really ask for a response.
and about playing a cd backwards, just rip the album onto your computer convert it to .wav put it in the recorder and hit reverse. unless they changed the cd version of the album to not include the backwards song.

The White Album is great, but I probably wouldn't pick it as a first album. It would be like someone that never listened to Pink Floyd buying Meddle. They just wouldn't get it.
Smurf, if you do like it, great, but if not, I would recommend buying the Yellow Submarine soundtrack. It's sort of a compendium.

About Revolution #9 what the fuck is going on in that song?!? seriously I had to turn that song off when I was listening to it peaking on a head full of acid. Sounded to occult to me for the state of mind I was in and in a sinister way also like they where channeling the devil. Very uncool it sent chills up and down my spine. The rest of the album however I loved that song just got a little to intense I think. And its not like the rest of the album isn't dark either in a way.

The Beatles we're enthralled by experimental composers like Stockhuasen and John Cage when they wrote that.
I like it.

Did you know that on the CD verison of "Sergeant Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band" they stuck an extra (looping) track on the end that plays a part of one of the songs on the album backwards?

Yeah, I have the CD. I'm pretty sure that that clip is not from any part of the album. Paul McCartney claims to not know where it came from. Also, are you sure it's only on the CD?

I know what you guys are saying about some of the darkness in those two Beatles songs. However, for some reason The Beatles songs always seem to have an underlying feeling of goodness to me. It always feels like it was made with good intension's to me no matter what.

I disagree. I think that the Beatles were very aware that music can make you feel good or make you feel bad. They were aware that music can generate beautiful psychedelic images or very ugly ones. They proved it to me.

I agree with that. I think the white album to me represents some sort of paradox in that its really their dark album in many songs.

Yeah, I guess it all depends on the listener. Personally I just feel that even the darkest Beatles song has an underlying feeling of positivity to it.

On the contrary, there are lots of records that feature what is known as a "locked beat loop", which means that it just plays the same couple of measures over and over. Many DJ's use them for scratching sequences.

[sarcasm] Yeah, any song that ends with the words "Oh untimely death" has a definite positivity. [/sarcasm]

Bungalo Bill is another freaky song. I swear that album makes the hair stand up on the back of my neck when I listen on acid. I can see why it made manson go batshit crazy.

Second that.
For Valentine's Day I bought my girl the Anthology on DVD. We've been watching it in order and are up to the end of Sargeant Pepper. If you get a chance, watch the Anthology. It's amazing. I just hope they talk more about the nitty-gritty of how they wrote the tunes. Also, check out some of the tunes on the anthology cds. I especially like Mother Nature's son and the slow, groovy version of Sexy Sadie. God, they're too fuckin' good.

I think if I were forced to pick one Beatles song as my favorite, I'd pretty much have to say "Penny Lane".
It's a very happy tune, great trip track, lots of neat sounds and fun lyrics.
Of course, I thank god I'm not forced to pick just one.

Pick up Rubber Soul or Abbey Road next.
