Want to Go Vegan

Hello, I am a vegetarian and I dearly want to go vegan. It seems like a major step though, and I'm really uncertain of its health impacts. Can someone give me some info/web pages on how to go vegan without seriously weakening your body? Thanks.

I've been vegan for 8 years and my health has improved by following a diet that emphasizes unprocessed foods. Lots of rice, beans, veggies, grains... low on processed sugars. Basically you'll have to cook real food a lot more, but chances are that you'll pay less for what you eat, enjoy eating it a lot more, and live a lot longer.
Watch out though, I got rated a 1 for saying I was vegan in OTD...

Yeah I'm in the process of switching to a vegetarian diet and I started cooking for myself last fall, but I'm having a tough time preserving foods, finding recipes whose leftovers I can freeze or refridgerate for later, etc. Any tips? and tips for vegetarianism in general? or links, books, what have you.

Snyder, can you give us some details about what kind of foodgroups Vegan food has, perhaps some links to websites etc?
Do vegans tend to lose weight or be obese?
At the moment I'm shopping for a new style of eating, and if it suits me it might well be Vegan.
I dont know enough about Vegan foods, really..

there's a food guide for you, wiccan_seeker!
Myself, and all the vegans I know are all average wight. I dont know anyone whose obese and a vegan. I personally am on the small side, but most vegans, i think, are average weight...HEALTHY weight, anyways!
