To be a rodman you don't need anything.. you can learn that way, and move up.. but there's like 2 year courses you can take that'd help alot, if you want to be a crew chief or something.

i am a luthier (stringed instrument builder and repairman) and also tour with bands as a guitar tech. I toured playing for years with various bands... thats how i got my foot in the door. i alsoworked in the Gibson custom shop for years. entry pay is about $400/wk + per diam. since i have been doing it for a while, my pay is around $750/wk + $25/day per diam. hopefully i will move up to stage manager in the next year or so. that would mean $1000/wk + $25/day per diam.

I work in a pizza place, but am hopefully going to be working in a plastics factory in the next few weeks.

I never thought I would ever hear myself say i will hopefully be working in a factory, but the money isnt bad for someone with no real college education. I'll keep that up until June, when I will be going to bonnaroo, and working at a local day camp as a camp councellor during the summer. I did it last year and its an absolutely amazing job! The kids are amazing and i'm outside the whole time. Getting paid to run around and play sports with a bunch of 11-13 year olds.. Ahh, the life.

And hopefully i'm going to school next fall. I applied to Johnson & Whales in Providence, RI,  and Johnson State College in VT.

I'm a college educated pizza boy, musician, hiker (AT 800+ mi), traveller, a jack of many trades: termite inspector, telecom network support, meachanic, seamstress (or is it seamster?), carpenter, publisher's assistant, electrician, computer tech support, restaurant manager, flea market vendor, herbicide sprayer, and more.

Hey automan how did you get the gig as a luthier. I have no experience in it but it sounds interesting...

I'm a full time student, 4th year university B.A in humanities and a B.ed in P/J. Basically in 2 years I can teach k-4, considering picking up a minor in psych or european studies next year.

I work full time hours at a part-time job waitressing/bartending and still don't make enough $$ I model for extra cash on occasion. I'm trying to find a flexible second job from April-September I was thinking parks & rec or day camp, but I'm not sure how flexible that will be, if not that then maybe a bookstore or coffee shop.
