FAE monotub - Air out, moisture in?

Are there any products on the market that are designed to let air flow out but keep moisture in? How about press and seal w/ micropore holes? I'm trying to think of a good lid that will allow for better FAE than my polyfill holes, which aren't spaced the 6-8" which is recommended for monotubs.

A shity lid works great. i use the rubbermaid 66 QT tubs and the lid isn't a snap on/wrap around lid instead it has clamps on the sides and the way it's designed... well it's designed like shit, but it allows for air to escape yet the moisture stays in. it's designed great for us but i don't beleive it was intended that way.
p.s. i have NO holes in my PMP... so take that into consideration.

Well my lids fit kind of tightly and if I didn't have any holes in my setup, the fruits would be screwed because of high CO2 levels. The plastic lid does keep in moisture, but assuming they fit like they should they don't allow much in the way of air exchange. Even right now with just the polyfil, if i don't fan at least twice a day my shroomies show it.

So are you using an air pump??? i would suggest one if you aren't and if you are increase the size of it and force more air in it. also you could bore out the holes slightly to compensate for a bigger pump.

I'm not using an airpump, I've seen them mentioned, but aren't they loud?
I have about 10- 58 qt tubs, so ideally i just want each to have a lid allows air exchange. I'm goin on vacation in a couple weeks and I'm concerned about what I'm gonna do for that week.

the whole idea of the tub is that there is no active fae. and the polyfill holes provide EXCELLENT air exchange.

I agree. The simpler the better, so forget the fans and timers. Personally however, I see no reason for the polyfill either. I leave my fruiting environment wide open so the air can flow in and out at will. Natural circulation will provide your air exchange, and I've never found a need to filter or otherwise clean the air entering a fruiting chamber. Trichoderma won't grow in an environment with fresh, circulating air. RR

Isn't loss of humidity a problem doing that though? I've seen you post it before and I've been tempted to give it a shot, but I'm not sure what kind of setup you are talking about. So you're saying I can do a double/mono tub with NO polyfil and humidity loss won't be a problem? Would I need to mist?

I'm interested in that as well, seems like that would be okay if you had a martha or a cool mist. But my original question still stands, why wouldn't press and seal w/micropore work better than a plastic lid? I mean, during fruiting the more fresh air the better right?
