Become an artist? That was my initial point, anyone who creates art is technically an artist, albeit not a professional artist (unless of course they make money with their art, which, it seems, MJ does).

Guess what? Opinions and claims can be the same thing too, we were claiming in our opinion that MJ's art is shit, why are you making this so difficult? Not everyone wants to follow your straightforward ways of thinking, expressing opinion, if you can't interpret something as simple as the views expressed in this thread I'm actually confused how you survive socially.
Actually, I was just trying to point out how much a of dick you were being. However, claims and opinions are not the same thing. If I claim that all X are Y, it is not the same as stating my opinion that I think all X seem like Y. Claims can be refuted, opinions cannot.
Claim: All apples taste like shit. <-- can be refuted Opinion: I think apples taste like shit. <-- cannot be refuted

My goodness, I really fucked this thread up with that question, didn't I?
I guess MJ does consider himself an artist. I do not. What MJ does is equivalent to using a preset Fruityloops drum kit, making a beat, and telling us it's his newest waltz. I mean seriously. Fractals? That comes from a computer's 'soul', not yours.
I don't mean to sound harsh. I think this art is just frankly no good.

Not all of my art is made form a fractal.
I created the flying saucer and the ufo's posted in the images below by using boolean objects. I created the tree form scratch and the water and mountain are Bryce 5. The metalic spaceship in the bryce imaeg I created also from boolean objects and shaped it into a gold metalic space vehicle. Connecting them together and then shapeing them and coloring them to shape them imto Space ships. So Those are not from fractals. I made them from scratch And I am doing so to show here. I did make their backgrounds in KPT effects but the backgrounds are necessary to show the whole image.
Two or three people not liking my art does not affect my response to make a lot more.
Now I have this summer, an animated dvd being produced of my art animated with music (Trance-Trip-Techno), 1 hour and maybe ten to 20 minutes. IT will contain five clips, three are already consisting of over 55 n mnutes of art animation. completed.

I did not imply anything towards adrug's comment about my art. IT was directed at others.

When I make a track in fruityloops, I take a sample (let's call it a 'boolean object'). Then I twist and turn it into the sound I want, say from a boing to a bap. When that's done I arrange the sample with other samples I've done the same thing to, and create a pleasing auditory soundscape. Roughly the same thing you do to make these pictures. So yes. There is much 'fruityloops' about those.
I just think your art is really uninspired. Again, I don't want to insult you. But that stuff is seriously not a challenge to make. I had Bryce 5 at one point and could pump out images very similar to yours. Maybe try using a bit of personal experience, emotion, or a real message in your art? All I see is pretty shapes and colours. Nothing of meaning.

When I draw a picture, I take a line and twist it and conform it to the shape I want to draw on the page...
Challenge doesn't mean much, jeez. Have you never been intrigued by a cartoon artwork style? Simple can be fucking amazing sometimes, just depends on the concept and execution.
MJ is an artist as is any other. Fuck, bunch of tight wads in this thread, they think they know what art is, sheesh. Only those who don't know shit try to tell others that they know. Those who know, well they don't give a shit.

As I said in my last post, I. Just. Think. It's uninspired. My opinion. I want MJ to try harder, that's all.

MJ doesn't care, as long as people are stupid enough to buy the stuff he's pumping out.

I clicked your avatar, but did not receive my PS2.
Lots of people in this thread have their panties in a bunch... it makes me giggle.
Art is in the eye of the beholder. If someone out there appreciates MJ's work, it is art to THEM. That is what matters.
That being said, everyone should also respect each other's right to express an OPINION... as long as they express it in the form of an opinion. (ie, simply say, "I don't really like it" instead of "that sucks.")
I, personally, do not like most of his artwork. I find his work very often unappealing in color choice, and I think most of them look very "unfinished." (Many art pieces just require fine tuning and finesse to bring them into their own, so to speak.)
However, I have found a few pieces throughout his posts that I have appreciated... and I do respect him for embracing creativity, even if I don't like everything he makes.
