"United for Peace and Justice (UFPJ), A leading antiwar group in the U.S., has issued a call to overthrow the U.S. government on March 15, 2006 by storming the White House and replacing the government.
"We are calling on the military, police, citizens and religious organizations to stand with us and help us to bring Democracy back to the United States..."
"We are calling on all citizens and governments in every country to stand with us. We are calling on all Member Nations of the U.N.; All Representatives and Justices in the World Court and International Criminal Courts; All Human Rights Advocates; All Soldiers and CIA agents and government officials who have been blackmailed or are in fear of the dictators to join us in ending this reign of corporate terror in our government. The World Criminal Courts need to incarcerate Bush, Cheney and Rumsfeld for admitted crimes and known crimes of international scope. The Political Cooperative will put a new, temporary government in place that is comprised of people from Amnesty International, Human Rights Watch. "

I'm definitley going, if you ever go to a protest in your life let it be this one. I highly doubt it will actually happen, the gov't overthrow, but it will be a great protest and because of its goals it will be all over the media.
Take a bus if you don't have a car. Pool with some of your friends. Man I hope anyone that's going is posting this story all over the internet. I'm PUMPED. I already got two other kids to come with me. If you want to pool with me and you live around philadelphia give me a call, I will do anything to support the public outrage. The more we show our outrage the more it will become apparent there is a reason we are outraged.
Sadly because of the propaganda in the media today, rarely are any protests covered or even mentioned, but I think they can't ignore this one. It's too good of a story for them.
And if they start throwing tear gas at us, well I'm fighting the fuck back. And if members of the current gov't, military, etc. show up, then damn will this be a protest.
-------------------- I don't think for myself. I think as though I'm explaining my thoughts to someone else. I'm concerned only for those listening.

I have a feeling a group called United for Peace isn't going to stage much of a revolution.

I wouldnt worry about the US government being overthrown. IF we keep heading down the future we are going things arent going to be very good. Massive consumer and government debt could in just a day turn this country into a thirld world country.
People dont realize the tight rope our government is walking with money. Its no wonder they dont have enough money anymore to clean up after Katrina or even send a few helicopters to bust marijuana
The debt isnt completely the governments fault considering people these days continue to put themselves in debt and buy houses and things at inflated prices and just continue to finance debt.
Reminds me of 1929 sometimes.

it's the tip of the iceberg. the spark that starts the fire. when these fools start trying to scale the fence and charge the white house the secret service wil shoot them and it will draw alot of media attention to their cause. viva la revolution! i think the government should be replaced by the cast of sesame street though. it would be more fun.

elmo would be the secretary of state because he could just get his way by saying something cute, then everyone would laugh and sign the treaties. Big bird should be president though.
I wan't to see big bird rushing across the white house lawn spraying bullets with his AK. The count could be the treasurer. Bert and Ernie would be lobbyists for gay marriage. Oscar could be in charge of energy and waste regulations. and cookie monster...cookie monster could be the torturer general or attorney general, breaking peoples legs with his brute strength...imagine the last sight you see being those googily bouncing eye balls staring down at you as he finally puts out the lights.
t'would be a glorious coup.

Just when you thought that a coup attempt was absurd enough, they top it off with this. I wonder when they are going to let Amnesty International know they are being installed as the new US government LMAO.

"United for Peace and Justice (UFPJ), A leading antiwar group in the U.S., has issued a call to overthrow the U.S. government on March 15, 2006 by storming the White House and replacing the government."
People are gonna die! You cant forcibly overthrow the government, its called treason. I am sure someone has already been arrested an is undergoing intense interrogations.
"We are calling on the military, police, citizens and religious organizations to stand with us and help us to bring Democracy back to the United States..."
someone is calling on the wrong people. Those are gonna be the people that massacre yall.
the revolutrion isn't going tostart at the white house, its a military position.
The revolution is gonna start in the streets of our neighborhoods.
Whith roving band of revoulutionairies fortifying their homes and lands. It will almost certainly take place in a guerrilla fashion. In fact it won't be much different than the war in Iraq. Preparations are underway my friends. There will come a time when we will need to fight back, this isn't it and this isn't the way.
You know hwom nis gonna be leading it? The right, casue they want less government. The want less control. They are also the only ones who will have money and balls enough for guns.

United for Peace and Justice (UFPJ) is a coalition of more than 1,300 international and U.S.-based organizations opposed to what they describe as "our government's policy of permanent warfare and empire-building."
The organization was founded by Leslie Cagan
Its first protest, on February 15, 2003, in front of the United Nations headquarters in New York City and entitled "The World Says No to War." The protest drew over 500,000 people. Its second major protest, held on March 20, 2004 to commemorate the first anniversary of the U.S.' attack on Iraq. The event drew over 100,000 people in New York City, plus nearly two million in 700 other cities. In 2004, the organization wanted to hold a rally on the Great Lawn of Central Park in opposition to the continued occupation of Iraq. The City denied UFPJ's application for a permit, on the basis that a mass gathering on the Great Lawn would be harmful to the grass, and that such damage would make it harder to collect private donations to maintain the Park. UFPJ charged that Mayor Michael Bloomberg was willing to allow other large gatherings on the Great Lawn, but was discriminating against the demonstration so as to curry favor with the Republican Party, which was holding its quadrennial convention in New York City. Nevertheless, a court rejected UFPJ's challenge to the denial of the permit. The major protest was eventually held elsewhere, on Sunday, August 29, 2004, the eve of the 2004 Republican National Convention in New York City. The event drew over 500,000 people, according to The New York Times, and received lead coverage (including a double-sized, vertical front page in New York Newsday) in every major newspaper. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_for_Peace_and_Justice
