Question about yeild

I saw on some online forum that a person had a 1000watt light with switchable bulbs (HPS/MH), a drip hydro setup, and about a 6x6 foot space to work with inside a 10x10 foot room. How much could one yeild in a not too long amount of time (normal veg time so plants dont get too tall for light to be ineffective). Also, how many plants would be recommended for a 4x4 foot tray for the hydro setup when growing from seed - harvest. The room is lined with mylar and has decent ventilation with fans blowing on the plants and exhaust vents/intakes to the outside.

they say you can get 1 gram per watt of light. beginners and novices should get around .5 gram per watt if they aren't too incompetant and most likely they will get less than that.
I don't have any experience with hydro so I can't offer input on the second question.

Like today said, .5 should make you happy. 1g is a great harvest. over that would have CO2 and a good hydro setup.
If you are going hydro, go with DWC(deep water culture) Or Ebb and Flo. Drip is a waste of time imo. Soil is better than a drip hydro setup.
Few things to think of.
Dont grow from seed. Grow a mother and take cuttings to ensure constant growth rates and potency. You will also never have males to deal with. Be sure to get good ventilation, a bathroom fan from home depot is crap. If your going to have 1000w get a centrifugal fan online. itll probley last you a life time.
We cant tell you how many plants to grow, because we dont know how you want to grow them. a good guess would be 5-6 trees. or 12-24 little guys or a few trained plants. Do a search for SOG and SCROG. FIM aswell should help.
