New Grower 2 questions.
    #5342243 - 02/26/06 06:45 PM (17 years, 10 months ago)

I have done all my research and am doing my first grow. Going to grow 4 casing total (2xBRF cakes a casing). Growing 2 different strains, the Z strain and Thailand PB. However I have come across some discrepancies with what to do while incubating fresh spore injected jars. When they go into the incubator should it be dark or have indirect light? My second question is about my 50/50 of peat moss and vermiculite casing mix. Do I need to add crushed oyster shell to the mix, is it necessary? Just wondering if I can crush a Tumms tablet for source of calcium in mix? Thanks for advice and help.

Dark for incubation no light at all
not sure if u can use tums, and it never hurts to add osyter shells because it gives a good fundation for the mushbabies

Read this before making a peat based casing mix.
