8 qt is mighty small. Especially if you plan on doing quart jars of grains.

I would say that you want to get the 21qt PC. 8qt is tiny. I know that this is expensive for one part but it really is going to be very useful in the future. Good Luck on your first grow!

Yeah, if you wanna do it right, the little expenses add up really damn fast. But damn, it becomes worth it so quickly. Maybe to get back some money you can use your setup to grow some gourmet oysters and sell them at the farmer's market or something. Anyways, good luck w/ your bidding.

21qt. IMHO is as small as you will want to go depending of course on if your going into this hobby or just passing thru!  Damn HC that PC looks aweful good on you!!!!

An all american 21.5 quart can do 10 quart jars at a time. A good investment. They can be had practally new for $70ish shipped.

Yup.
5 quart PC is good for sterilizing syringes & not much else. Unless you enjoy PC'ing 1/2 pint jars ~ 24/7 for a week.
