I've been looking for a simple yet very flavorful recipe for any chinese orange chicken dish. Most of the ones I find are somewhat dissappointing and dont sound too good. Any links or recipes would be awwwesome. Thanks guys

its not chinese but it sounds good Orange Chicken recipe Orange Chicken list of ingredients: 3 1/2 lb of roasting chicken, jointed. 8 fl oz of orange juice. 2 oz of margarine, melted. Rind of two oranges, grated. Rind of two lemons, grated. 3 tablespoons of honey. 1 1/2 teaspoons of salt. 1 teaspoon of dry mustard. 2 tablespoons of lemon juice. 1 tablespoon of water 3 teaspoons of cornflour.
Instructions for preparing Orange Chicken: Combine the grated rinds, mustard, honey and salt. Spread the mixture on the chicken. Then cover and let stand for about thirty minutes.
Preheat the oven to 160F.
Pour half of the margarine into a baking dish and add the chicken (skin side up), in single layer.
Pour the orange and lemon juices over the chicken, then spoon over the remaining half of the margarine.
Bake for about 45 minutes, occasionally basting.
Turn the chicken over and bake for another 30 minutes more.
Turn it skin-side up again and bake for another 15 minutes until cooked through and browned.
Strain the juices from the baking dish into a small saucepan and skim off the excess fat. Combine the cornflour and water, add to the saucepan and bring to the boil, constantly stirring. Simmer gently over a low heat.
Pour the sauce over the chicken, then pour the honey on top.

when you make fried rice do you use white or brown rice? we always used to use white but now we use brown and its better looking and tastes better,we also use the light soy sauce not the dark

I've never made fried rice before but I'm assuming I'll use brown rice for it. I'll have white rice on the side because white rice is you know, white rice and you need it. I'll find some recipes for rice.

my wife makes it and she's got it down pat, i know one rule is day old cooked rice then she cooks it in the wok with omelette rolled and chopped, some peas, some carrots, onion or shallots, small bits of chicken and prawns and light soy sauce to taste, dont use the dark one,its pretty much trial and error cooking it,but i have the utmost confidence in ya

when you make fried rice you make it with white jasmine rice...and you're correct, day old rice is key..or, if you will be making fried rice for dinner...cook the rice in the morning..let it sit in the fridge or on the counter for the whole day then cook it in the evening.
i posted a recipe for fried rice in here somewhere need to find it...
and i have a good kung pao chicken recipe too...need to find that...
though off to work i go!
