A couple times a week while i'm sleeping i'll wake up in the middle of the night with intense energy coming into my consciousness, which has been aptly-named by more than one person as 'downloading' (because that's exactly what it feels like). Usually when this happens my mind is trying to process it all, much to my confusion. It's very similar to being in a thought-loop while tripping. Instead of trying to process it with the logical mind though, lately i've been trying to just allow the energy to drop down into the lower energy centers where it can simply be felt. This helps greatly in reducing the anxiety and confusion that comes with it.
But alas, i digress: last night while downloading information from my higher self, i had what i could only describe as a revelation. I had a brief vision of what existence consisted of outside this universe.
Here is what was revealed to me... take it with a grain of salt: As our consciousness evolves and journeys back toward the Source, our reality becomes less and less definite. The "laws of nature" that we experience and observe daily can, from one perspective, be considered gifts, since they keep us sane by giving us a consistent predictable reality to experience. However, as our consciousness progresses "higher", reality becomes much more fluid and unpredictable. At some point between our present self-awareness and the awareness of the All, our universe actually ceases to exist. This is the "void" or "cosmic horror" as some have called it. It is existence or awareness without purpose.
For a brief moment i had a feeling of what this was like. It lasted only a second but felt like an eternity. First it was frightening, then strange. There is absolutely no point of reference whatsoever, no memory of what has happened or will happen. There is no logic, but also no feeling. Our universe, and everything that comprises it, is completely subjective from this perspective. It is almost humorous that since our present reality is one of infinite possibilities, the way things currently are is like a mish-mash of random ideas thrown together for the sake of the experience. Furthermore, outside this universe-reality, there are infinite other realities possible which we cannot begin to comprehend, because our conscious perspective is within the rules or bounds of our universe. For example, there may exist realities where there is no such thing as even 'light' and 'dark'. What i'm talking here is obviously "out there" and beyond the beyond.
I was also 'told' after this vision that each of us needs to begin to overcome our fear of change and fear of death if we are to evolve spiritually. We tend to associate our "selves" with the wrong part of our being. Thus when we die part of us dies, but another part lives on. And that is the part we should be focused on rather than the ephemeral physical body and personality. We are too attached to ourselves and thus the part that dies, rather than being focused on the potential (energy?) outside of ourselves. Thus the entity that is focused on itself rather than outside itself, will continually be stuck in a loop, and cannot "move on" until it realizes that there is more to existence than itself.

Take it as a great gift my friend...most people live their entire lives without this knowledge--but you were gifted it via the dreamstate. I had to loose all ego and sence of self through psilocybin before I was revealed exactly what you've described.
Everything IS everything...

You'd appreciate this book which I've been reading. It recasts your apt understanding in classic terms, and brings one into a community centuries old. I enjoyed reading your post because it affirms my own understanding (as well as those going back millennia who have left records).

I experianced this feeling of "existence or awareness without purpose." while trying salvia for the first time. Your right I was scared shitless. It is a very very strange event. I was convinced for about 4 hours afterwards that my mind was fucked and I would never get back to reality, even though I had been in reality for the whole 4 hours. I realized later that I felt that way because this reality seemed fake, and that I had been shown the truth in all its horror.
Good post man.
peace.
