I have a question, regarding the plans on my first grow

Greetings its me again,
Thank you all for your kind posts in my last thread, now on to the matter at hand. I have decided on my incubation chamber, and my terrarium, but as I read more I am learning that cakes, although easy to begin with are not the best way to go in the ling run.
I have an interest in casing, but as I researched into casing found that I might even be better off with grain rather than cakes.
Now I know that Grain based growing is considered the next step in growing, but as I read more, and am already buying a PC, and tend to do things in the best manner possible, is it too much to think of doing one batch on cakes (to learn about watching my mecelium), and one on casing (torn between 50/50 and the Verm/Coc) my first time around then maybe jump into grain, or would it possible to grasp the subtleties of grain growth using the Syringe to Print with Rye Tek? Seeing as how I am building my Martha, and TiT this weekend. With the availablility of the necessities should I cinsider trying Rye off the bat or do I need the learning experience that is cakes and cake based casing?
I have my substrains picked, I have picked my Incubation and Fruiting Chamber methods....but what to grow in,....what to grow in.
Any and all assistannce would be gretaly appreciated and I sincerely thank you for taking the tiime to aid me.
Darken *smiles*

Sounds like your on the right trak.
As far as what you should use as a FC you'll have to figure that out, but the TIT and Martha are both fine, though for different needs.
Starting on grains to hpoo is not a problem if you take the time to learn. I started that way for my first grow and I have not had any problems.

If you are careful and sterile in your procedures and you follows the directions word for word, you should be able to handle rye. It's not that much different than cakes really. In fact, the main difference b/t BRF and grain (aside from the nutritional values), is that you have to case the grain, while with BRF you have an option to fruit as cakes or casings.
For casing, go with the 50/50+. The peat based casing layer is less likely to overlay.

I was leaning towards following my Tek and using Vermiculite/Coco Coir. Unless there is a reason I should chhange over.
Also although I have most of my Martha in the works, I am having issues finding a Ultrasonic Humidifer for a fair price, I can gget a Walgreens Cool Mist but I cant find an Ultrasonic only Martha tek I could find was the 72" which I am doing as a single 36" instead of a double.)
Thank you again.

Go to every goodwill within a 25 mile radius. Often you can find humidifiers, coolmist and ultrasonic alike, at goodwills for a decent price.

Just as everyone else said follow the Tek closely and you shouldn't have a problem. If you got a digital camera you can always take pics of how it is going. Then if you have any questions people can take a look at your snap shots and help assess your situation.
