Mycelium 1, Mean Green 0

I recently had a spot of mean green show up in a jar of WBS in a localized area of about 2" x 3"
The mycelium was advanced enough that it surrounded the contam and killed it, and now the jar is full of healthy myc growth.
Safe or no?

The visible struggle was over in a matter of days after the myc significantly colonized a majority of the grain. I have no reason to believe that the contam survived the battle on the insides of the jars.
Just wondering if there's any extraordinary implications with this type of situation. I've only read posts dealing with existing contams and not dead and pwn3d ones.

Chances are that it is good to go. i just said that cause there could be a very little to none showing but the inside could be green. From my experience.
But once you crumble it you will see, if it's all white and health mycelium then your good to go.

It's like you just hit the lottery, bro. I've never had mycelium defeat that cold, evil green bitch. Congradulations. You might have won this battle, but the war's far from over.

That happened to 3 or 4 jars I had. When I crumbled them up in a bag they looked contamed though so I tossed em.

Umm, I think it will. Hardly ever wins though. Case in point -----> RogerRabbit Time Lapse Video <----- Pay special attention to video #3. Thanks RR

I doubt the cake will fruit, because the contaminant is still in there. However, if it does, the fruits are safe to eat. Green molds are non-toxic. RR

I'll knock the grains around in a few days and keep you guys up to date. The mycelium convincingly looked as though it was killing and overtaking the green mold, colonizing grains that had it all over them. Perhaps this strain (BPK) is more vicious than others, and isn't content with getting it's shit ruined.

Good luck. That BPK strain's a pretty tough competitor. Don't forget to make a few prints (some of us would love to get our hands on that fighter) and post some pics of your harvest.
