Most of them taste bad, I think because of the defensive chemicals they use precicely to discourage animals from eating them.

All the opuntias I've tasted were quite good though, the pads and the fruits.

And if you just go and eat a cactus you don't know for sure whats in it. Is there any particular specied you are looking to eat?

You could try.... but I really dont know if you'd get the effects you want. the magic stays pretty trapped in the cells.... you'd have to thoroughly chew every piece... and imagine if it was just too nasty to eat all the way.... I'd -atleast- run it through a blender....

When properly made though, when boiled properly, the magic comes out of all the cells, and the bulk strained out, you could reduce the snot-syrup to about 4 ounces... someone could down that in one shot if they were so inclined

yeah iv done that before , once i ate it fresh then made tea out of fresh nothing happed so about 4 hours later i drank ayahuasca which was really good trip. I found that that huasca trip was most deffinatly potenated by the cactus i had eaten. i made tea of dried powder and have eaten dried powder and found it to be alot like that first trip

Oh shit. There's two or three things which help, so check this:

--Leave the skin on because alot of the goodies are right on the inside of it,
--Cut strips of the green flesh (with skin) and let it dry for a couple nights, or blow a space heater over it on low until 75% of the water evaps and it will be easier to chew, or use,
--When the flesh dried out a good bit mix it with frozen berries and sugar in a blender and it's not so bad at all. Try to keep the mass less than a cup or two, and
trip
you
will....

...or something
