Alright been gone for a little bit Hard drive went bad on the Comp. Anyway I got three BRF jars That have been in my TiT incubator for about a week and a half. No sign of growth whatsoever. Another question. I relized that after i boiled them foil needed to be on the jars when boiling not after Oops.... So anyway could that of caused my jars to dry out. And if they are not moist enough wouldn't that hinder MYC growth. Thanks for any comments or suggestions.

Yes its possible. Does the substrate look dry? It could be that too much moisture got INTO the jars, but you would see a lot of extra moisture in there if that was the case. If the substrate is too wet or too dry, then yes, it will definitely affect mycelium growth. Gotta read read read! Better luck next time. Most people mess up on the first try. I know mine was a disaster!!
Look into getting a pressure cooker. It will be the best investment you ever made in reguards to mushroom growing.

Well i dont see any condensation on the sides of the jar or anything. The BRF does look a little dry also. I gotta make a confession. I opened one up to see if it was dry and i stuck my finger in it and everything stuck to my finger and was really tacky.

It should feel pretty moist, but not completely saturated with water. If it feels dry at all, then its too dry. You will have little if any growth in too dry of substrate. Sticking your finger in it wasn't the best thing to do, but if you only did it to one jar, then you should be able to make an assumption reguarding your other two?
It sounds like the jar might be ruined anyways, so think of it as a learning experience.

should be moist, sounds like a common that happens with the "pots" PC method.

I made 12 Jars and knocked them up with some Brazil spores. 2 showed growth in a couple days. 6 more took almost 3 weeks to germinate. The other 4 didn't show any signs of growth (and no signs of contamination) a week later so I rehydrated them with about 6cc's of sterile water and knocked 'em up with some GT and all 4 are now colonising nicely.
So it's always possible you just have some late bloomers.
Although the way you say that everything stuck to your finger in the jar you tested almost sounds like it's either too wet and/or contains too much flour. A good mix should stick a bit, but not like paste.
