When should I spawn?

Well, I have a few questions so I'll ask them all in one topic to avoid mutiple posts.
1) I have 5 PF Tek jars just finished colonizing. I have decided that instead of casing them I'll spawn them on to horse poo as I really want to give this a try. The problem is that I won't be around next weekend and my flatmates won't know how to tend the stuff. So... what do I do? a)Spawn now and incubate at optimal temperature hoping it will be ready to case before friday? b)Spawn now and incubate at below ideal temperature hoping that it wont be ready to case until AFTER I get back on Sunday? c)Or do I just wait until halfway through the week and spawn then?
The PF tek jars won't pin for a few days yet.
2)Another question: I found this preprepared horse manure at my gardening centre. Are there any issues with this stuff? I was going to add some straw to it to areate the mix, but does the bagged horse manure need pasteurizing? or do I just pasteurize the straw?
Thanks

1, you really shouldnt let others know your growing (assuming it's illegal in your area) but spawn and incubate at room temperature
2, pastuerize the straw and poo together, avoid the strw if you can

You mentioned that your jars are going to pin, so I'm confused. But if you spawn cakes to bulk, it should colonize in 5-7 days. It wouldn't be terriable to let it sit a few extra days. You don't want the casing layer to over colonize of course.
Less composted manure is better from what I've read. If it's dark, bordering on black, you might want to go straight straw. Either way, you should pasturize it.

Well they are not going to pin yet, but they will pin (in the jars) if I don't do anything with them this next week, before I go, and I don't want to grow them in vitro.
PS: Thanks for the concern Prisoner#1 but the shroom growing is just one of the few "horticultural" activities that we (i.e. all the flatmates) are engaged in in my flat. The only problem is that while the rest of them feel comfortable with clorophyll producing things (I myself do not have green fingers) I am more at home with mycelia and such.

Make sure those jars are in the dark 24/7 and they will never pin.

My suggestion to you is that you spawn as soon as the jars are fully colonized. Add a casing layer once you get a chance. Assuming full colonization of the poo of course.
Recently I had a tray colonizing that was fully colonized then went about 5 days before I could add a casing layer. Now the casing layer is showing the most even colonization I have had yet to date.

Too much colonization of the casing layer would be considered overlay. It's basically when the casing layer is VERY thick with mycelium that wont pin. Overlay is more common when using coir as a casing layer. Improper fruiting conditions also cause overlay.
