So do you use Opera?
It seems whoever wrote that is very pro Opera. I have never tried it.

Opera is cool. It's on the comps at my school, it has tabbed browsing and all of that goodness...

Myth - "Firefox is the Most Secure Web Browser" - Example
Reality - Opera is actually the most Secure Graphical Web Browser in Windows. - Source
Well, changing the domain of action (most secure vs. most secure in Windows) also changes the trueness of the assertions.

The security of any browser is irrelevant to if it is part of the operating system.
Then run a browser in kernel mode, if you have balls. The nearer an app is to the kernel, the bigger the threats of its bugs.

There's no doubt that Internet Explorer has more than it's fair share of security holes, but very few of them have to do with ActiveX.
Oh, yeah, more than 15 bugs in a single feature makes that feature a lot secure.

Myth - "Firefox Extensions are Safe" - Example
Reality - Firefox Extensions can be very unsafe.
Changing the action changes reality (being safe, possibility of not being safe).

Notes - Internet Explorer with Windows XP Service Pack 2 installed provide the same level of Spyware security as Firefox.
Is this supposed to be something good about firefox or something bad about SP2? A mere browser prevents spyware in the same degree that a bunch of security patches and a spyware remover!

Tabbed Browsing has been around a long time. Netcaptor offered Tab Browsing back in 1997. Opera developed it back in 1995 and added it in Opera 4 in 2000. Other Popular Browsers such as Avant Browser and Maxthon also had these features way before Firefox officially arrived in 2004.
Firefox was named Firebird before. And before that, its name was Phoenix. That was 2002, not 2004. Even before that, Mozilla browser, which had tabs back in 2000. And I must remember Opera 4 hadn't tabs, they were introduced in Opera 6 (2001). Before there were MDI in Opera, but that's not tabbing, that's a lot of windows embedded in a single one.

Myth - "Firefox supports Tabbed Browsing and Internet Explorer does not" - Example
Reality - Internet Explorer 6 supports Tabbed Browsing when used with the MSN Toolbar extension in Windows XP. - Source
And with extensions, Firefox does whatever your beloved Opera does, and a lot more. 17 (4n 3v3n m4k3 m3 wr173 |337 w17h0u7 7w1571n6 my f1n63r5.

Notes - Internet Explorer has very good support (83%) for the most important web standard, HTML 4.01. In most educational systems an 83% would equal a "B" grade and without HTML the World Wide Web would not exist as we know it. - Source
So to say, 1 out of 5 features from plain old HTML 4.01 just don't work, and that is pretty good.
More than that, his own source claims Firefox follows the standards more than his beloved Opera itself. http://www.webdevout.net/browser_support_summary.php. But I suppose it's not worth mentioning.
Yeah, ok, Firefox is evil.
The other things are true or just a complete nonsense I don't bother to comment.

> Opera developed [tabbing] back in 1995
Incorrect. MDI (multiple document interface) was demo'd in 1995, but it is a far cry from tabbed browsing. Even the MDI enabled browser, called Opera 2.1, wasn't released to the public until 1996. Tabbed browsing was created by BookLink Technologies in 1994 and used in its InternetWorks browser. Opera didn't start using tabs in MDI until version 4 which was released in 2000.

Most of you guys like Firefox though, right? I got the impression that Firefox was the most popular browser here.
