I woke up today and...

I look at the wall and notice some bright colors which turn into small outlines of birds then into 3-Dimensional cartoon like birds. I have not done anything besides mushrooms in about a week and 1/2. I'm pretty sure it was not a dream, but I do remember either falling asleep again after it happened or waking up.
What's the deal?

There are these minutes after u wake up... man those are really trippy moments. During that time i dont usually think about it as something trippy but sometimes i see, think, do strange stuff, it is after a while when i realized i've completly waken up that i get things clear and think about those minutes like a minitrip... then i freak out and smoke a bowl, afterthat everything is normal again
Really... i think it has a lot to do with neurochemestry (which i dun understand at all), mayb it is the brain's way to get ready for a new day providing u with a little interesting chemicals for motivational proposes ^_^ I do get the bright color things, trails and the moire like effect that u also get on psychedelics.

Lately I've noticed shadows moving oddly and sometimes appearing 3-Dimensional. Not human shadows, just what work lights do at a construction site. Angular, linear shadows from beams, columns,stairwells, reflections off the sides of trucks driving by, whatever...{building is being demolished} I hope I didn't wake up some resident ghosts ....Thankfully, I can puff at work without fear of being tested... {maybe time for glasses?}

I was under the impression you don't get flashbacks from mushrooms, also these hallucinations were a lot more solid then anything I've seen on shrooms.

Maybe some kind of friendly night terror? It's very possible to hallucinate in various stages of transition between sleep and being awake.

When you wake up, your brain waves change shape. Sleep generally involves delta waves, and waking activity generally involves alpha and beta waves. I would imagine that right when you wake up, you transition into alpha waves for a few minutes (hence the groggy relaxed feeling). Psychedelics also elicit alpha waves. My guess is that your brain made an association between the feeling of alpha waves and psychedelics and at that particular moment a synapse fired and BAM you experienced some mild visuals.
That or it was simply a mild flashback.

Honestly, I rather enjoyed the visuals or whatever they were. Luckily they were not frightening.
