green mold

i just checked my casing to fan it out and theres a small penny sized amount of green mold on it that wasent there last night. can i just cut it out patch and possibly save my casing. this is my first grow im a month and a half in and dont wana have to scrap this stuff now

well i went a head and removed it anyway. i couldent wait it like my baby was in danger so as a parent i had to step in. i know the green are spores and the mold is accualy white so what i did was i spray the area down with water to stop spores from getting airborn and removed a section straight to the bottom then i sprinkled salt in the hole hope it works. would rather lose 1 square inch of myc to salt then have to chuck the whole thing one more question i have though is if the green mold has spread how long will it be before i will be able to notice?
