a contact effect?

It seems like everytime I'm tripping around relatively sober people they act completely ridiculous. I know my roommates really well, they're my best friends. Everytime, especially if those tripping out number those that aren't, they act all crazy but not in the sense that they're purposely trying to mess with us...they just act in a very uninhibited manner. In fact they seem crazier than any of those who are tripping.
Now first I want to know if anyone else notices this.
and then if you do, I'd like to know why you think this happens.
Reasons I can think of for this:
A. They are acting normally and my perception of their actions is distorted.
B. They know people are tripping and feel less of a need to inhibit anything because they figure either we won't remember what happened or just feel that they have just as much of a right to be insane at the time as us.
C. There's some kind of perceivable energy emanated when people are tripping face that other people pick up on...

Purple haze, all in my brain, lately things just don't seem the same. Actin' funny but I don't know why, 'scuse me while I kiss the sky.

Shulgin describes this in PIHKAL, some of his group arrived late for a 2-ci experiment and within minutes were experiencing a contact high.

I think that if sober people that have tripped are in a room full of trippers, they'll get a mind fuck just hangin out with everybody. (it's happened to me before) I think it particularly applies to people on different doses getting equally tripped out.

well i thought about this a bit more when i got high and thought what if since your on psychedelics you see the things about people that you normally ignore. Theres so much that your brain just ignornes especailly when it comes to others but maybe thats just my two cents every one has their personal filters

Unless you come across an asshole who finds it funny to play with you on LSD and chases you with a brooms stick and accidentaly stabs your pretty damn hard and your racing through crazy visuals. Then apologises and gives you more LSD so later he can just find someone else to mess with you and repeat, "peanut butter jelly time!".

Six? It seems like a lifetime, or at least a main era - -the kind of peak that never comes again. San Francisco in the middle sixties was a very special time and place to be a part of. Maybe it meant something. Maybe not, in the long run, but no explanation, no mix of words or music or memories can touch that sense of knowing that you were there and alive in that corner of time and the world. Whatever it meant." Hunter S. Thompson.
