Growth stopped

Strangely enough only 1 side of my jar has suddenly stopped growing. I check the temp, its at 82. I turned the jar upsidown and then right side up to suck in fresh air, nothing, and I've widened the holes on the top to allow the myc some more air. Perhaps I am out of moisture? I have been thinking of giving it another week before attempting to cut off the colonized pieces and break it up. Anyone have an idea of what's a good way to jump start the growth?

Just flip the jar and leave it be. The uncolonized spot will eventually fill in.
And how long have they been in incubating for?

Ahhhh a month and a half wow. I guess you have been patient. Give another week or two and keep watching the progress. Might as well wait a little longer before taking it uncolonized.

Heh, once again patience comes around to bite me in the ass. I agree though spicy I'm probably just being impatient, though I was just confused because a week ago I'd say it was ready to birth around this time and it'd frozen since then. Probably just need to cool it, the Myca is probably just getting to the last stretch.

Damn, a month and a half using PFtek 1/2 pint cakes?
Did you tightly pack the substrate into the jars during preperation?
How many cc's did you inoculate into each jar?
Does your temperature fluctuate at all during incubation?
Water content could be an issue after that long a period of time.
Perhaps there might be a competing mold/bacteria in that section of the cake?

okay my man here we go. its not tightly packed and I nnoculated 1cc into each jar. it flucuated once it raised 10 degree from 70's up to 80's. though its been in the 80's for 2 weeks now and it did nothing but speed the growth up. its a cambodian pink buffalo strain and it does not appear to be any contams. It smells just fine..its a 1 cup verm to 1/2 brf and 1/2 water as the mixture states and has that layer of dry verm as a cushion. its been turned every 3 days for gas exchange and I left one upsidown and another right side up to see if the gas exchange was helping more then hinderingt he process.

Gas exchange will definitely help the process. Flip the cake and leave it flipped in your incubator. Should finish within a few days. If not, birth it with all the other cakes when they're ready and cut the uncolonized part out and crumble.

Hmmmmmm, those aren't 1/2 pints.
Those look like pints to me.
They will take about double the time to colonize as the 1/2 pints.
I was under the impression that your cakes were almost completely colonized. Those cakes don't even look 50% done.
