has anyone managed to keep a constant RH of say 85 % using a certain amount of perlite?

A well sealed FC with 2" perlite and 1" water/h2o2 gives me almost perfect RH although I always like to mist also unless it's a fullauto setup.

I guess it depends a lot on the size of your FC.
Personally, perlite gives me a lot of humidity, always above 95%.

Yea you can. Play with the levels for a bit. Will take a few days of trial and error. I have perlite with my casings, stays around 90....

It's also good to play with the amout of surface area exposed... if your RH is too low, try elevating your casings on some cut up milk crate or something, expose more of the perlite to the air.

Good point! A FC with casings covering all the perlite will have little to no real surface area thus low RH.
