Tiny Fruits

So i recently cased 2 quarts of WBS...but got tiny tiny fruits (like an inch tall and very thin). Ive done WBS before and had good results (i usually do poo but not this time), but this time I used a different brand of WBS that was mostly millet and I also fruited it in my new martha that has, in my opinion, good humidity and airflow, usually between 80-90%. Anyone know why the fruits are so small, is it because it's millet?

It's probably because there wasn't enough water in the wbs. Millet wont retain the kind of water necessary for large fruits. Did you soak and simmer your wbs?

my take on this is that you don't have very much substrate for them to consume. you have 2 quarts of WBS, i mean how deep of a layer can you really get from that?!?. I used three in this pic and they were all small-medium sized fruits. if you want bigger fruits use more spawn and more substrate.

Substrate volume and depth. I cased two quarts of WBS one time, and the substrate depth was barely an inch thick. The mushrooms were a joke of course, very tiny just like you described. Ya gotta go deep + wide to get the big ones.

thats texas right there, biggest fruit was 5 inches and i only had ONE of those guys. Average fruit size was about 3 inches. I pulled 2 and 1/4 oz dry off of that first flush.
