Effective Heating Units...

Hey. I am trying to find a good heating unit for a fruiting chamber. I cannot seem to get the fish tank heaters to work well. Is there a more effective unit to use? If so, what is it and where can I get my hands on one? Thanks for any help that you can offer.

Through what sort of application were you using the fishtank heater? i.e. was it in a heatbomb or were you doing TiT like snaggle said? I know this sounds like a really stupid question, but you did at least have the heater in water, right? Because it is not designed to just heat up air, and it will not work. If you weren't using it in open air, good, I just have to check and make sure because sometimes people don't think about that.

Anything much lower than 65 or so may result in your cakes just stalling and never fruiting. 70+ is more preferable, if possible. If you want to ensure success, I'd advise making a heatbomb to bring it up those extra 5 degrees to the optimal zone. But you may be able to get away without it, so it's your call.

I use a Pro-Heat II heater in my TIT. I love it. It's got a temperature probe that you can put in the top tub and a digital display that tells you exactly what the temp is inside your tub. The tube is titanium so it will never break, it's just overall a nice heater.
