Hi! My PF Tek/Dunkin?Roll cakes are fruiting. I'm seeing a lot of short, fat, globular growth, and the bottoms of the stipes are kinda fuzzy. Wish I had a camera, but I don't. What do ya'll think? Is this normal?

Thanks for your response! After a little research, I've discovered that I'm getting a lot of "fat-asses". My light source is coming in sideways, but I'm helpless to change that now (broke). Is this an indication of some kinda problem? Some are already tearing veil, and they're only a couple of inches long. Should they be harvested when the veil tears, no matter how long (or short, I should say) they are? Things are happening fast...

From what I understand, when the veils begin to tear is the prime time to harvest. Even the small ones and the aborts can get you off.

Yes, that's what I've heard, too. Anyone else like to comment about this special case? And are short, fat-asses, an indication of a problem, an indication of anything, or just another possibility?

Pretty sure your temps are a little high. That's incubation temps. You can fruit at 70-73F. Don't know how that might affect the grow....
