Help me.

Hey I just birthed my cakes last night and they were fully colonised and white with mycellium. But today when I checked on them one of the cakes had a very small spot, very small, of a little bluish tint in just that one spot. I was wondering if this is mold or more likely the bluing of the mycellium from being bruised some how. Please give me advice as to what I should do. I dont want to risk my other cakes.

Was the bluish spot on the myc or the uncolonized part?
If it was on the myc, its probably just brusing.

Yea its on the colonized mycellium. How rare is it for fully colonized cakes to be contammed? Do I need to separate that cake from the others?

if you want to be safer than sorry seperate it... however, personally i would not seperate it bc they way you describe it sounds like brusing from birthing

Well, I haven't been 100% sterile in my procedures. Its my first grow and I'm on my second flush with no problems yet.
Bruising doesn't need to be seperated. Mine usually bruise a really dark blue, almost blackish. It'll heal.
Good luck.

No no, you're fine. It's just bruising like License said. When you get a contam, it'll start smelling like sickly sweetness, like rotting apples. Also, contaminations are like extra growth, not just discoloration.
::EDIT:: Hah.. all three of us responded to you within the first minute, but they're right, don't worry.
